temple projects is an independent, artist-run project space based inside the historic Masonic Temple in downtown Salina, Kansas. Focusing on local and regional artists who seek opportunities to experiment and expand their practice, the project aims to create a space that supports artistic risk-taking, in both process and presentation. Because temple projects operates within an active, community-used building, we don't work within a single designated gallery space. Instead, each project is open to find a space that fits it best. The theater, salons, stairwells, and other tucked-away rooms all have the potential to become sites for installation, performance, and experimentation. Our goal is to use our access to the Temple's eccentric spaces to create room for artists to experiment, share work, and build connections within Salina and across the region.
